Please see the following message concerning work on N. Main St. for the HAWK (pedestrian crossing system) work being completed over the next few months.
Expect lane restrictions along US 180B (N. Main St.) in Eagar as crews begin installing pedestrian crossing week of Jan. 12
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for daytime lane restrictions along US 180B, locally known as Main Street, at 6th Avenue in the Town of Eagar as work begins on construction of High Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) pedestrian signals.
Drivers should expect the following restrictions weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
● US 180B (N. Main St.) will have daytime lane restrictions at 6th Avenue. Drivers should safely merge over into the other lane when passing though the work zone.
● Shoulder and sidewalk closures will be required for the installation of signal poles.
● There will be intermittent closures of US 180B (N. Main St.) for the installation of the mast arm, signals and crosswalk pavement markings.
● Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours. No work is anticipated to occur on weekends or holidays.
The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of February.
The purpose of the HAWK pedestrian signal is to stop vehicular traffic only when it’s needed to allow for protected pedestrian crossings. For more information on the HAWK pedestrian signal and how to use it, please visit the project webpage.
